What Is Skin Tightening?
If your skin is not as toned as you'd like, Alpha Aesthetics And Health may help to increase its laxity using skin tightening with Ultherapy®, a nonsurgical intervention for loose facial, neck, and décolletage skin. With approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Ultherapy's energy from ultrasound waves can change your skin's elasticity in a short treatment session. After your appointment, when the treated skin starts to heal, your body naturally creates more collagen to strengthen the skin. This treatment may be done along with other rejuvenating skin treatments to leave the skin appearing revitalized.
How Does Skin Tightening Work?
After you arrive, you will be asked to relax in our minor procedures room, where one of our professionals will prepare your treatment area, which may include the use of a local anesthetic. If needed, we also offer Pro-Nox™ to help you remain comfortable throughout your session. Pro-Nox is an inhaled analgesia system that delivers a 50/50 mixture of oxygen and nitrous oxide, providing quick pain and anxiety relief. During your treatment, a handpiece that focuses energy from ultrasound waves will be passed across your skin. Depending on the number of areas treated, your sessions can take 1 – 2 hours. It's normal for your skin to appear somewhat pink and swollen after your treatment session. You may use nonprescription pain medication to reduce the inflammation and discomfort. After your appointment, you can apply cosmetics and resume your daily activities.
